APERTURE

F. 2.8
F. 11
F. 22

These are my picture examples of small, medium, and large aperture settings. In the first picture, the aperture was large so the picture was darker, and as I made the settings higher, it became more brighter.  I noticed that the first picture was more in focus, the second one started to get out of focus, and the third one was out of focus. I struggled with blurriness of pictures, because that kept happening when I set the aperture to f.22.

Alternative Self Portraits

The process of taking these pictures went pretty well. I had some difficulties but other than that it was good. For the first picture, I was thinking about using edge lighting. I tried to make sure one side of her face has a dark shade to it and the other side have a light shading to it. For the second picture, I used a lamp to shine the light under her face.

I was somewhat satisfied with the results of my pictures. I like the second picture better because it has so much unique shading to it. The shades under he eyelids and her nice are displayed nice and also the darkness of the background.

Shutter Speed

1/15
- This photo was take with the lowest shutter
speed. That allowed the movement to appear blurry.

1/60
- This picture appeared less blurry because
the shutter speed was faster.

1/100
- This photo was still blurry a little bit as the
shutter speed became faster but it was clearer than the first
two.

1/250
-  This shutter speed was much faster so that made the
picture appear dark.

1/1000
- The shutter speed on this photo is so fast that it made the picture appear dark.
It's much darker than the first four photos.

LIGHTING: One Light Set-Up

BUTTERFLY

EDGE

REMBRANDT

It was pretty easy taking these pictures because I already knew what each light set up was. But I got a better idea of what each was. I did struggle with setting them up correctly. For example,  I had trouble knowing how to correctly line up the light with the person for edge lighting. But other than that, I did not struggle much.

INTERPRET: Forgotton

FORGOTTON

The first picture relates to the theme "forgotton" because that park is a park where no one really visits and people seem to forget it's there. The second picture is a picture of a girl who is sad and feels left out in society and noone seems to notice her. And the third picture is a picture of the girl who is thinking about nature and it makes her happy about herself but not forgotten.

INTERPRET: Reflection

PhotoPhotoPhoto

For this assignment you had to take pictures of reflections. I think this assignment was a difficult and my least favorite one. I think that because it was hard to find reflections anywhere other than just shadows.
I thought it was cool how some of my reflection pictures turned out. Even though it was a hard assignment sort of, I still liked it. I also learned a lot of things while doing this.

EXPOSURE- Aperture

The most problems I had with this assignment was waiting so long for the camera to take the picture when the aperture was as high as 1/22. Most of the time when I took the picture on 1/5 or 1/11 it turned out nice but when I took it on 1/22, the picture turned out blurry. I found that when I took a picture of Atiyah, my pictures turned out well and better than all my other pictures.

EXPOSURE- Shutter Speed

I did understand the principle of shutter speed. I learned lots of things while
using shutter speed. When the shutter speed was as high as 1/4000 the
picture was very clear and light, rather than if the shutter speed was as
low as 1/10 the picture was really dark and it took forever to take the picture.
I was able to successfully control the shutter speed. It wasn't that complicated
to handle and it was straight forward. I feel like I got good enough results from
using the shutter speed. I think my pictures came out nice.

Watching Light

I took my first picture around 6 pm. First I took a picture of the window, where the light was balancing on the window seal.  I mostly took pictures of how the light was balancing on the floor, and a table, or even a wall.  I noticed a lot of things while doing this assignment. I noticed that wherever I took a picture of where the light was coming from it had a certain angle. I also noticed   that when I was lighter around 6, you couldn't see the reflection of the window on the window on the glass table. But around 7 when it got darker, I started to notice the reflection of the window on the table.

This assignment made me feel kind of bored. Like I could not just sit there for an hour and watch light. light. It was boring but at the same time it was interesting. I learned and noticed a lot of things from this assignment. I also noticed that no matter how much you look at the sky you never really notice the sky getting darker. Usually you see the sky get darker when you're not paying attention to it.
